Days in TAIPEI

Taipei was fun!! A total of 6 girls on a trip together to Taipei.. All are my SIM friends.. and also Lijun and her bf was on the same flight to and fro with us! So coincidental! So here's some of the things we did on the trip.



Day 1 - 16 May
Met up at 1100 at T1 for check-in and afterwhich had lunch before proceeding to the plane. Departed at 1300 sharp and reached Taiwan airport around 1740. Thereafter, boarded the public coach and headed to our hotel at Ximending. Quite a long journey there coz of the traffic.. and reached the hotel at about 2000. Checked in and left our luggages at the hotel and headed our for dinner *starving already*. Our first meal in Taipei was at the Grill House where we had pasta. Dinner wasn't too bad.. after dinner, walked around Ximending and then headed back to hotel to rest.

Day 2 - 17 May
Had donuts for breakfast from Mister Donut.. *nice nice* Then bought their 'EasyCard' sort of similar to our EzLink Card, and took the train to our shopping destination, WuFenPu. It's a wholesale place and the prices are supposed to be cheaper than shopping centres. As we reached there too early and most of the shops weren't opened yet, we went for an early lunch... Lu3 Rou4 Fan4 (Stewed Meat Rice) and the Dumpling Rice.. *superb* And of course after lunch, it's the time for shopping! It was a VERY big place for shopping! Much much bigger than our Bugis Street. I think we didn't really cover the entire area but we did bought a lot of clothes! The not so good thing there is that you are not allowed to try on the clothes. You can only estimate or if you bring your measuring tape along, then good. Actually not all the things are considered to be cheap there.. Only a minor bit.. And there wasn't much shops selling shoes.. *disappointed* After almost half a day at WuFenPu, we headed over to Rao He Night Market for dinner. Had oyster and prawn omelette, XXL chicken and Liang2 Yuan2. I think most of us didn't buy anything from the Night Market coz the stuff there quite ex. Didn't stay for long coz was already feeling the tiredness from the shopping at WuFenPu. Headed back to Ximending to put our stuff before going out for a short walk ard Ximending. Also, tried out the Ah Zhong Mee Sua *delicious sia...* and you have to stand and eat it coz there are no tables around.

Day 3 - 18 May
Had breakfast bought from a road side stall near the street in Ximending. Had Shao1 Bing3 and their carrot cake and it was quite nice. Then met up with Lijun and her bf at Ximen station to head for Hot Spring at Beitou. When we reached the place, we couldn't decide on which place to settle for the Hot Spring and walked around before finally decided to try out the Hot Spring at Shui3 Mei3. Had their twin package which included high tea and 90mins of Hot Spring. Was a very great experience and had lots of fun! The high tea was nice and with deserts and drink. After the Hot Spring, headed to Dan4 Shui3 to shop for the local goodies. Bad thing was that it started to rain not long after we arrived there and ended up buying poncho. All of us bought a few local goodies to be brought back home. Had planned to go Shilin but it was raining too heavily and we decided to postponed till the following day. Had dinner at a foodcourt in Ximending and also tried the food at some of the street stalls along Ximending.. especially the BBQ food..

Day 4 - 19 May
Today, headed to Living Mall for brunch and shopping. Then headed to some supermart for grocery shopping. Also stopped by some cosmetic shop and bought some vanity items.. *girls lah..* Headed back to put down the stuff at hotel and then went to Shilin Night Market. It's a MUST to try out the famous foodies there! Tried the famous XXXL chicken, the Da4 Bing3 Bao1 Xiao3 Bing3 and the oyster omelette too! Simply loved the XXXL chicken.. tender, juicy meat.. and super BIG too! *missed it so much..* Began shopping after dinner and my was it PACKED!! You don't need to walk as the ppl behind you will simply push you through.. Though it was packed, it didn't stopped us from shopping. Bought a lot of items, clothings, bags, etc... But didn't finish walking the entire Shilin Street and had to catch the last train back to Ximen. Was so exhausted by the time we went back to the hotel.

Day 5 - 20 May
Today went to eat Din Tai Fung and then had the famous ice at Ice Monster. And after which, went to another shopping place *i forgot what it was called*. Shopping till evening and we headed back to Shilin.. again.. Coz didn't finished shopping the day before.. So glad we headed back there coz shopping was FUN there and more stuff to buy. Today, tried their Takopachi, the bubble tea, Fen3 Yuan2 Dou4 Hua1, Mochi, and Sheng1 Jian1 Bao1. All are yummy too!! *drooling le..* And yet again.. had to catch the last train back to Ximen. Back at the hotel.. started with packing of luggage.. so many things to be packed..

Day 6 - 21 May
The last day in Taipei.. Checked out of the hotel at 12 noon and afterwhich, had lunch at Ximending and to do some last minute shopping in the area before catching the coach to the airport. Had dinner at the airport, but it was the worst meal in Taipei! Not much of a choice for us.. And finally boarded the plane back to SIN. Reached about 2245... It's finally Home Sweet Home..

Gonna miss TAIWAN.. the food.. and also the girls..
